Rent-A-Christmas has forever changed the way businesses and individuals decorate for Christmas in New York City. Rent-A-Christmas rent a variety of real and artificial Christmas trees, wreaths, garland & lights to New York City businesses, local residents & even those just visiting for the season. Our Rent-A-Christmas designers will evaluate your space and provide you with suggestions on how to decorate. We then send the Rent-A-Christmas Elves to deliver & setup your rental at the beginning of the season, and come back after the holidays to take down all rented decorations, making Rent-A-Christmas the easiest way to celebrate Christmas in NYC.

We need you to lead us on a critical product redesign of our chief ecommerce platform, rent-a-christmas.com. As the Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, you will lead the redesign of our rental platform, from high level concepting and collaborative brainstorming to sketching, wireframing and visual design. You will partner with the founders and ask intelligent questions to understand our desired business processes, our vision and the target audience. You will then take what you have learned and create a masterful work that will be used by thousands of New Yorkers. You have top-notch visual and interaction skills and can create a world-class user experience and design. 

We consider our website to be more of a platform, or web app, than a website. As such, your design will optimize the user experience, while simulataneously designing for our business requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Documented, verifiable and professional experience. We want people who have done this before, multiple times, and have led their previous clients to success.
• Exceptional understanding of current Product Design, UI/UX principles and trends
• Experience wireframing high-volume pages for other e-commerce businesses
• Experience with and/or understanding of product imagery and placement, HTML5, CSS, SASS and LESS, effective landing/home page design and effective product page design
• Experience with web-app design
• Proven track record owning or playing a fundamental role in the UI/UX/interaction design of products, sites and/or applications
• Strong background in UI/UX design with proven ability to create functional, usable and delightful interfaces
• Proven ability to bring to market consumer-oriented digital products, services, and/or experiences.
• Strong information design communication skills, both in team collaboration and written documentation of UX design elements, flows, interaction and functionalities
• Experience with multi-platform projects for large audiences (mobile, tablet, desktop and connected devices)
• Talented. Intellectually curious, quick study who will learn the business quickly, proactive problem solver who will actively engage in thoughtful debate. Conscientious, curious, hard-working individual who craves accountability and loves to solve complex problems
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate your ideas through sketches and wireframes

This job requires the ability to work with the owners in person. This is not a remote position.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience designing effective email campaign templates
• Experience working on UI/UX design for Single Page Applications (SPA's)
