Job Description
Since 2014 we have been working on the development of innovative products based on NFC technology, consisting of hardware and software. We are part of the RENESAS family and well embedded in the Embedded Processing and Connectivity organization.
To date we have successfully launched multiple NFC ICs onto the market. Our NFC products are used for example in Point of Sales terminals, wireless charging of wearables (like small battery accessories or smart watches) and in the field of Internet of Things (IoT). The innovative strength of our international team is visible in our day-to-day work and the products we bring to the market.
Renesas Electronics Corporation is a dynamic organization that you will be part of and as such you will be helping to address the rising demand of NFC in applications such as Fintec, IOT, asset tracking, wireless charging and automotive applications.
Currently, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Operations manager (f/m/d) to strengthen our team and drive for operational excellence.
Job summary
As an Engineering Operations Manager you are responsible for driving operational excellence across our engineering organization by establishing scalable processes, improving productivity, enabling planning and execution, and providing data-driven insights. This role partners closely with engineering leadership, product management, program management, finance, HR, and other cross-functional teams to ensure efficient delivery of engineering objectives and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership, analytical capabilities, program management expertise, and a deep understanding of semiconductor engineering organizations and the semiconductor product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage operational execution quality, driving execution, and ensuring accountability
- Inspire and coach an organization of team members & team leaders to achieve our objectives.
- Support annual and quarterly planning processes, including roadmap updates, and resource planning.
- Establish and improve engineering governance, processes, and best practices.
- Deliver executive-level reporting and provide key insights for leadership.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and facilitate resolution.
- Maintain visibility into program health, milestones, and delivery commitments.
- Support headcount planning, workforce management, and organizational design.
- Partner with finance on budget forecasting, tracking, and spend management.
- Standardize operational processes, best practices and documentation.
- Implement tools and systems that enhance collaboration, planning, and execution.
- Engage in stakeholder management and ensure alignment between business objectives and engineering priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Masters/PhD Engineering degree in Electronics / Computer Science with industry experience of more than 10+ years.
- Experience in Engineering leadership and proven ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives in large engineering organizations.
- Background in technical program management or engineering leadership.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor lifecycle and related engineering processes.
- Experience in NFC/RFID and/or other wireless radio technologies is highly desirable, but not a must-have.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with documentation and reporting tools such as Jira / Confluence, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
Additional Information
This position is subject to the Collective Agreement of the Electrical and Electronics Industry, employment group I (https://www.feei.at/leistungen/informations-service/mindestlohne-und-gehalter). The monthly salary is paid 14 times a year. However, we offer a higher salary depending on your experience and qualifications.
