Job Description

Account Managers within our inside sales team are responsible for managing and selling Renaissance Learning’s products and services within assigned opportunities, with a focus on renewals and new business upsell/cross-sell.  Responsible for cultivating customer relationships, and maintaining high product renewal rates, and strong relationships and collaboration with internal sales partners.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing renewal base through timely annual renewals and adding incremental new business sales through cross selling and upselling

  • Utilize the sales process to manage and close opportunities

  • Maintain high renewal rates among existing accounts

  • Generate customer interest and attendance in company-sponsored events
  • Manage/Update opportunities, contacts, Sales leads and related customer data management in CRM
  • Develop and cultivate key customers and relationships through timely virtual meetings
  • Conduct quote review prior to delivery to customer
  • Deliver Proposal and Quote presentations for Standard Renewal quotes, Add-On quotes, and revisions
  • Manage and resolve customer concerns and issues related to sales opportunities
  • Represents sales by participating on initiative teams, based on impacted accounts
  • Interface with internal departments creating strong working relationships/efficiencies 
  • In collaboration with Sales peers, manage the Sales Forecast and demand for assigned responsibility
  • Participate in targeted calling campaigns
  • Handle incoming sales calls and online chats according to established standards
  • Partner on account management and overall support with Sales counterparts
  • Accountable for achieving sales targets

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years’ experience in a customer-facing, quota carrying role such as Customer Success or Account Management

Computer Skills

  • Familiar with PC applications

  • Familiar with MS office applications

  • Virtual meeting software familiarity

Other General Skills

  • Prior experience in Inside Sales in a Professional Contact Center environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment to accomplish mutual tasks and goals
  • Strong knowledge of educational market with targeted focus on assessment and instruction tools preferred
  • Ability to write general business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
