Job Description

Given the nature of Langdon Hall as a unique, luxury boutique property, every team member will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed guests’ expectations with an attention for detail. Our team members possess strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards their work and their fellow colleagues while handling pressure situations.


As Food & Beverage Manager, you will guide individuals towards achieving company goals and promote a positive team culture. You will cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration and communication, while equipping team members with the necessary tools for success. You will also strategize and implement initiatives to generate revenue, enhance guest experience, strengthen team performance, productivity and quality of work.

Reporting Structure
Reports to: Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef. Receives direction from any member of the Langdon Hall Executive Team.
Direct Reports: Assistant Food & Beverage Managers, Supervisors
Reports: Team Captains, line staff


Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Organize, guide and manage the Food & Beverage team, while motivating and encouraging their individual and team development
• Maintain Langdon Hall’s service levels and brand experience
• Identify opportunities and implement revenue-generating ideas that exceed the expectations of our guests, ensuring departmental goals are met
• Maintain departmental profitability related to labour cost control measures and operational expenditures, without compromising guest or employee experiences
• Establish measures to maintain proper use of equipment, hard goods and soft goods in order to maintain the longevity of use
• Oversee the continued development and implementation of operational standards
• Inspire accountability by creating, following, and coaching on standardized practices for the leadership and line teams
• Communicate expectations, goals and feedback to the group regularly and resolve any concerns or issues actively
• Identify and address conflicts early, facilitating discussions and finding satisfactory solutions for all parties involved.
• Set clear objectives, define roles and responsibilities and ensure each team member aligns with the team’s vision.
• Recognize and reward good performance, provide feedback and encourage professional development.
• Support team members’ professional development by providing opportunities for training and growth.
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience in a managerial level in hotel food and beverage or restaurant at a property that reflects similar standards set by Relais & Chateaux or CAA Five Diamond restaurant
  • degree from an accredited university or college in Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major preferred
  • acute knowledge of principles and processes for providing personal guest service
  • Being able to assess guests’ needs, evaluate guest satisfaction and meet standards for guest service
  • knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, budget allocations, human resource principles and leadership practice
