Chef Remco Kuijpers* (Fitzgerald, Rotterdam, The Netherlands) love for healthy food is reflected in incredible vegetarian options on each menu. He carefully selects only the best ingredients, ideally from local suppliers and producers. All are harvested at the perfect moment and used in an exploratory way; authentic but always with a modern twist – taking into account the local setting of Weeshuis Gouda and its historical references. Job Description

As a sommelier you have the passion to transfer your product and wine knowledge to your colleagues and you do not shy away from the workplace. You create a pleasant atmosphere for guests and employees. You are critical and pay attention to details and neatness, but you do not lose the overview.

    This is what you will do:

    • Together with the restaurant manager you are responsible for the presentation and compiling of the wine list;
    • You participate in the team;
    • With your sharp eye for detail and sense of quality, you can identify imperfections and act accordingly

    Qualifications

    This is what we expect from you:

    • You have recognized wine certificates;
    • You are proactive and have good communication skills;
    • You are someone who stands for luxury, quality and an eye for detail;
    • You are flexible and like variety;
    • Experience in a comparable five star hotel is an advantage, but your presentation and your interaction with the guests are decisive.
