We are a luxury, art hotel located on the Gold Coast of Florida right on Deerfield Beach and the only Relais & Chateaux hotel in Florida. We only have 12 boutique accommodations, 9 large rooms and 3 thoughtfully appointed suites, all with ocean views, balconies facing the beach, and original artwork all throughout. Our restaurant, Chanson, offers a creative, seafood-forward menu with a sense of place.

Job Description

The Royal Blues Hotel and Chanson Restaurant is looking for floor manager with wine knowledge.

The ideal candidate will embody the core tenets of great hospitality: Knowledge, compassion, and genuineness. We are looking for someone who will be able to devise a plan, prepare to succeed, and execute all of the details using all possible resources and thinking outside the box if needed. This person will also have great wine knowledge and will focus on sales to introduce guests to new and exciting expressions of wine making and varietals from all over the world with an emphasis on Italy and its numerous regions.


The duties will consist of the below at the basic core:

  • Hiring, training, and counseling restaurant staff
  • Handling guests requests and feedback with great aplomb
  • Solving challenges with the perspective of experience and in coordination with the other members of the management team when needed
  • Maintaining rigid cleanliness standards for the entirety of the restaurant
  • Managing personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Ensuring knowledge is kept fresh about both Relais & Chateaux and Forbes standards
  • Building and maintaining the wine list in conjunction with the General Manager and the Owner

Qualifications

Fluent in English, both speaking and writing; other languages a plus

Attention to detail

Able to work in a small group environment environment

Knowledge of European/Mediterranean cuisine

Wine knowledge, preferably at a level 1 sommelier proficiency

Computer skills: Microsoft Office/Gsuite

Physical mobility, as bending, lifting, carrying or pulling objects that might be heavy are a part of the duties

Ability to follow through and complete projects on time

Flexible with the schedule. Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays


Experience

A minimum of 3 years experience in a management or supervisory role in a 4 or 5 star property, or equivalent
