Job Description

Hentley Farm Restaurant currently has an opportunity to welcome a highly motivated Restaurant Manager, to oversee the Front of House Team and service operations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate, focused and shares our ethos and vision for creating a memorable experience for guests, while championing South Australian and local produce and its producers. As well as a keen interest in wine and wine pairings.

 

Hentley Farm Restaurant is located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Having opened in 2012, the team have since then received numerous accolades and recognitions. With a strong focus on locality, foraging and the South Australian food community, and a great respect for the high quality of food available, the team deliver a tasting menu experience championing these ingredients, while letting the team’s own personalities and talents shine through.

 

The ideal person will have the following:

  • A keen passion in the hospitality industry, food, wine and meaningful human connection
  • Having a hands-on approach to the role, and a clear and strong presence during service
  • The ability to lead a young team with an engaging and passionate leadership style
  • The ability to connect with guests and deliver a personable experience
  • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to implement and oversee efficient systems and procedures
  • Maintaining Hentley Farm Restaurant’s high standards, while enthusiastically being involved with developing our offering further
  • Knowledge and understanding, as well as an interest, in wine and wine pairings
  • The ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong business awareness and commitment to furthering the success of Hentley Farm Restaurant
  • An understanding of cost management
  • An understanding of managing a team, rostering and delegation
  • The willingness and ability to oversee a range of events
  • Previous management experience
  • A positive attitude, progressive thinking and a willingness to embrace our vision

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the front of house team
  • Passionately leading a progressive and supportive culture
  • Have a hands-on and active role in day to day operations and services
  • Assisting the Executive Chef in creating the overall Hentley Farm experience
  • Encouraging and maintaining a strong relationship with the kitchen and chefs, who are a large part of delivering the Hentley Farm experience
  • Supervision of front of house team and their daily responsibilities, efficiency and engagement
  • Ordering, stocktake, and organising of stock
  • Implementing and overseeing ongoing training of team
  • Accountability of reservations and customer service for prior and post visit interactions
  • Profitability, while still maintaining high standards
  • Forwarding guest feedback to Executive Chef 
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with the onsite Cellar Door to further the guest experience
  • Work respectfully with local relationships

Qualifications

Experience as a restaurant manager, or similar, in a similar style restaurant
