Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Sourcing to lead the Sourcing team. The candidate must be a leader that could elevate our Sourcing capabilities and drive operational excellence. Also, this role demands a deep understanding of apparel manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and quality assurance having a robust background in managing cross functional teams, coupled with a strategic vision to optimize and streamline operations.

Manage information for development of new styles from concept to production via interaction with internal and external cross-functional partners.

Tasks and responsabilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Sourcing strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and vision. Lead and apply initiatives to de-risk country/Commodity and vendor risks, improve margins, and innovation.
  • Manage external partner’s relationships and key issues including but not limited to IMU goals, volume, calendar, T&A, as well as quality, delivery and vendor compliance.
  • Formulate sourcing strategy by partnering with Vice President; Oversee the sourcing strategy with regards to factories and mills

Operational Management:

  • Build and manage compliance to T&A calendar in conjunction with major milestones
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional interaction to drive decision making process and bring resolution. 
  • Monitor the T&A calendar and ensure seasonal milestones are being met, review escalated production issues and gain alignment and resolution on solution which may include giving direction to coordinator to execute, reach out to Agent/Vendor/Factory to work on solutions and/or escalate to leadership
  • Ensure process, tools and systems are being implemented and maintained. 

Product Development Collaboration:

  • Partner with PD, design and merchandising teams to translate creative concepts into manufacturable products ensuring design integrity and feasibility in production.
  • Partner with Design to execute sample requirements
  • Work with Design to select fabrics and trims to meet Design aesthetics, price points and quality needs
  • Actively participate in key milestone meetings with Design, Production and Merchandising
  • Accountable for the appropriate price value of the garment
  • Resource new factories or sources as dictated by business requirements

Cost Management: 

  • Partner with Design on initial development
  • Oversee raw material development to meet price, aesthetic, and quality needs
  • Ensure raw materials are executable, promote fabric plat-forming possibilities
  • Leverage raw materials within and across divisions
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality or delivery schedules.

Team Leadership: 

  • Build and lead high-performing teams. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that supports professional growth and skill development.

Qualifications

Qualifications and comptencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years minimum related experience in fashion apparel, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within the apparel industry
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multiple apparel teams. Strong skills in team building, conflict resolution, and motivation.
  • Workflow management experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and process optimization in apparel manufacturing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and market trends.
