Reitmans (Canada) Limited (RCL) is looking for a Vice-President Retail to develop, refine and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the brands global objectives, brand image and positioning statement – championing the customer experience and bringing it to the forefront of our activities. 

As an integral member of the brands executive management team, you will partner effectively with peers to develop and enhance the brand vision and initiate short- and long-term strategic initiatives to drive the business forward in an ultra-competitive and rapidly changing retail landscape where an integrated and seamless Omni-channel experience is our customer’s expectation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team of Sales Directors, on a national scale to ensure profitable, tactical, and strategic operations of the brands retail stores;
  • Review store operations budget, sales results and general store performance in order to direct the department’s efforts towards progressive actions to improve results and to build and maximize profitable sales;
  • Leverage your understanding of all markets and geographies across Canada to develop and execute the brand real-estate strategy in partnership with real-estate team;
  • In collaboration with store planning and marketing teams, continuously evolve the various store concepts relative to the market needs;
  • Communicate operational priorities and objectives to the team to allow for an efficient flow of information between departments to ensure collaboration and cooperation is in place at all times;
  • Provide leadership on performance management, recognition and compensation, coaching and development plans;
  • Maximize the customer experience within the banner by designing and executing the appropriate customer service model that exceeds customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training and development of the management team and ensure store management at all levels are identified and developed;
  • Provide coaching to direct reports, develop talent and actively works on succession development plans;
  • Play an active role with the senior management team to develop appropriate marketing strategies to enhance our competitive position and influence when necessary to gain support for strategic initiatives;
  • Partner closely and effectively with corporate teams to ensure the omni-channel experience surpasses our customer’s expectations:
  • Work in conjunction with the Loss prevention department, Directors Sales and operations and District Managers to monitor shrink performance throughout the year to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures;
  • Keeps abreast of our competitive positioning, our strengths and vulnerabilities and retail trends in general.  

Qualifications

KEY REQUIREMENTS

We are looking to bring onboard a leader with the passion, innovation and the retail knowledge that will guide us to where we are going and growing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related field;
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in retail with a minimum of five (5) years at a senior leadership level;
  • A proven track record in leveraging a brand as well as delivering growth and profitability;
  • Strong influencing and change management skills;
  • Proven record in inspiring high performance sales team;
  • Business acumen, strategic thinking and vision and strong ability to resolve complex problems;
  • Superior drive for results; proven track record of meeting and surpassing sales targets;
  • Proven experience managing P&L, top and bottom line oriented;
  • Leads by example and can inspire others to excel and surpass themselves;
  • Bilingual.
