Job Description
We are looking for quality candidates for our fast-paced and hands-on Equipment Maintenance position that is responsible for repair and maintenance of all equipment owned and operated by Red Wing Shoe Company. Must comply with all Red Wing Shoe safety policies and procedures. If you have these skills, you may be a great fit for Red Wing Shoe Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must be able to identify and operate basic tools and materials used in machine repair.
- Troubleshooting and repairing of both mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment, packaging lines and conveyor systems.
- Possess basic trouble shooting knowledge in pneumatics, electrical and mechanical applications.
- Have a basic understanding of electrical fundamentals to distinguish between AC & DC voltages. Knowledge of 110V-220V single and 3 phase voltages is preferred. Be able to comprehend basic electric motors and controls components.
- Must be able to operate various test meters and their functions.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics such as regulators, valves, tracing airlines and their functions.
- Work with machine operators on preventative maintenance of machines (oil, grease & cleaning of machines).
- Responsible for the installation of new machinery and all auxiliary equipment therein.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting production deadlines.
- Must perform any and all other tasks assigned by one’s manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Do repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime on an as-needed basis to ensure maintenance priorities and goals are met.
- Must have a good attendance record.
Qualifications
Must be mechanically inclined and it is highly preferred that a candidate has a background in maintaining and/or repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prefer previous experience having worked as a Maintenance Electrician, Maintenance Technician, or Multi-craft Technician.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS
- Must be knowledgeable with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general schematics.
- General computer knowledge to access parts in tool crib and record work orders.
- Must be able to work well with others as well as independently and contribute to a team environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have good communication skills.
