Job Description

STARTING HOURLY RANGE: Minimum of $28.34 hour to mid-point of $39.62/hour, based on qualifications.  Top of range is higher to allow for future growth in position.  In addition, we offer strong commission program based on store sales metrics.   We offer great retail store hours and our Store Managers typically work 40 hours per week.

Retail Store Managers are responsible for the overall operations of the Red Wing Shoe Store. They manage all store personnel in the areas of recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance management. Store Managers will work with area businesses on commercial accounts and have full P & L responsibility including controlling expenses, managing account and receivable processes, developing new business, managing inventory, and visual merchandising.

Qualifications

 

  • High School Education and 2+ year’s retail management experience including budget and sales goals management.
  • Enjoy meeting serving and interacting with customers.
  • Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts.
  • Understanding of “retail” hours, which include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
  • Strong computer experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Hands-on knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, referral & lead generation, & sales techniques.
  • Success with recruiting and training. Demonstrated ability to motivate & retain talent is essential.
  • High energy, enthusiasm and motivated demeanor.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills that yield results.
  • Effective communication style with all levels of an organization including store employees and RWS management.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA or BA degree and 2+ years Retail Management Experience
  • Footwear sales experience
