Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

This position will provide critical support for the Planning & Scheduling functions across the Red Wing Shoe Company manufacturing plants.  Support will include gathering data, analyzing trends, and reporting on key data and processes.  This position will also assist in providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide analytical support to effectively manage inventory moving through the plant operations to effectively meet business demand, including KPI reporting.
  • Establish measurements to capture effectiveness of processes, evaluate results and make recommendations for improvement, work with business partners to implement changes and evaluate change efficacy.
  • Perform daily activities, transactions and analysis to ensure effective WIP inventory management.
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders by sharing reports, updates and analysis to aid decisions and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Active engagement in driving a culture of continuous improvement within the planning and scheduling function as well as other stakeholder groups.

 

OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate status and relevant information to the appropriate groups to assist with planning & scheduling.
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams.

  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field and three to six years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (production, scheduling or Supply Chain Management experience strongly preferred).

 

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and footwear industry

  • Ability to acquire and interpret data from multiple sources

  • Excellent Listening, Verbal/Written Communication and Collaboration Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong drive for results and superior execution skills (attention to detail)

  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI

  • Prior Production Planning experience

  • Previous LEAN manufacturing (TPS) experience

  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • ASCM (formerly APICS) certification a plus
