SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for providing leadership for all 1st shift receiving and shipping activities and hourly team members for the Salt Lake City finished goods warehouse ensuring all key performance metrics (safety, quality, cost, delivery and people) are met or exceeded. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise the picking, packing, and staging of products to meet the delivery expectations of our customers. 

  • Plan and organize day to day shipping and receiving changes plus future needs for SLC warehouses, including building layouts, space efficiency and material handling efficiency. 

  • Ensure effectiveness of the hourly material handling team through effective communications; engagement; managing work flow; motivating/coaching; performance management; training and team development; role modeling and enforcing RWSC values, policies and procedures.

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement of receiving/picking/packing/staging processes and warehouse management systems/technology (i.e. ERP)

  • Assist in the management of the finished goods inventory control including but not limited to cycle counting, year-end inventory and accurate/timely data inputs.

  • Work with Customer Experience Department to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with shipping standards/requirements (Red Wing Domestic and International).

  1. Support Warehouse Manager in achieving financial objectives by meeting daily objectives; forecasting requirements; assisting with annual budget and managing expenses; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  2. Ensure all safety, quality and regulatory requirements are understood and met.

     

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSC’s electronic communication software.

  • Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.

  • Uphold Red Wing Shoe Company’s core values.

  • Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.

  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs.

  • Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handbook.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a warehouse environment

  • 2+ years of large group supervisory experience in a warehouse environment

  • Knowledge of warehouse technology systems and solutions.

  • Post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management, business or related field is preferred.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills

  • Strong drive for results and superior execution

  • High systems proficiency including Microsoft Office and ERP

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent planning and organizing skills

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

  • APICS certification a plus
