Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in driving a standard customer and employee experience across the Credit team
    •  Implement process improvements
    • Prepare and reporting on key department metrics
    • System upgrades/implementations
    • Standardize customer communications
    • Provide team and new dealer training
  • Manage a customer portfolio of approximately 1,000 accounts maintaining a rate of less than 5% of accounts over 60 days past due.
    • Monitor and report on customer payment trends
    • Research, prepare and approve credit processing to customer accounts
    • Release orders, place accounts on credit hold due to non-payment, process cash in advance orders
    • Propose bad debt write offs
    • Follow up on past due balances
    • Partner with Sales and Billing teams to ensure customer inquiries are answered and resolved timely
    • Submit accounts with serious delinquencies to our third-party collection agencies for resolution
  • Review and approve/deny new credit applications based on their credit worthiness.  This includes the analysis of financial statements, D&B reporting as well as gathering customer payment references
    • Manage customer credit limits based on their credit worthiness, payment trends and risk factors
    • Perform credit reviews based upon credit risk factor
  • Research, resolve/escalate billing discrepancies
  • Process monthly statements as well as interest invoices

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year degree in accounting, business, finance or related field and 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience 
  • NACM Certification preferred

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership skills
  • Strong customer service focus to support day to day interactions with our customers and internal teams
  • Strong organization and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, mathematical background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Analytical approach to solving problems, using data to research and report
