Job Description

  • Oversee ongoing efforts to provide one version of the truth by leveraging systems, improving processes, and helping to create sustainable master data and data governance practices across the company. 
  • Work with accounting team to prepare, analyze and present monthly financial statements.  Recommend and implement changes in process to improve accuracy of reporting.  Review monthly with the business units and finance leadership to understand results, measure performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide periodic analytic review and forecast of the business to include impact of decisions and trends.  Assess risks and opportunities and forecast outlook.
  • Coordinate budgeting and forecasting for the organization, including volume, revenue, gross margin, expenses and working capital requirements.  Provide reporting and analysis to assess the reasonableness of the plan. 
  • Act as key advisor in financial matters including strategic planning, business decisions, and investment analysis.    
  • Provide competitive analysis by comparing internal metrics against shoe industry and other comparable industries.  Use data to identify improvement opportunities within the business.
  • Support and enhance policies, procedures and systems to improve the overall control and effectiveness of the organization
  • Work with the business units, Finance and the Supply Chain to compile, communicate and drive improvements in working capital and other key performance metrics.
  • Lead Project Teams to identify and implement process improvements, cost savings or quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university preferably in accounting and finance.
  • Masters in Business (MBA) and /or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) desirable.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, systems and practice. 
  • Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Forecasting and general business acumen.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Eight to ten years of finance experience as a financial business unit partner, management accountant, financial/business analyst or similar leadership role within accounting or finance; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership and initiative to direct projects, explore alternatives and implement recommendations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines.
  • Experience and aptitude to work with various computer applications and tools to extract, analyze and process information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Team oriented player with the ability to work in a matrix organization.
