Apply technical skills to the shoe repair process for external customers.

• Receive and inspect worn shoes to decide if the show can be repaired per the customer request.
• Perform sole tear-off process to prep the boot for the bottoming process in the manufacturing plant.
• Receive Phone orders for modifications and special repairs from dealers.  Enter order into Movex to request new shoe be sent from warehouse.  Once the boot is received, perform specified modification to boot per customer request
• Repair or replace soles, heals, and other parts of footwear, using sewing, buffing and other shoe repair machines, materials, and equipment.
• Answer calls regarding shoe repair from consumers and dealers and provide repair status.
• Perform a variety of shoe repair functions using a variety of tools, such as:  Bandsaw, Sanders and grinders, Sole stitching, Inseaming, Cobbling, many other hand tools
• Clean up in area when time permits and there isn’t any minor repair work to be done
• Identify potential quality issues to the Quality Department.
• Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSC’s electronic communication software.
• Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.
• Uphold Red Wing Shoe Company’s core values.
• Complete other duties as assigned from time to time.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes, or programs.
• Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handbook.
• Ability to work effectively as a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• Experience in a light industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Shoe construction or repair experience
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Customer service driven
• Attention to detail and quality
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain a team environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and E mail
