Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing the budgets, schedules and daily operations (safety, quality, cost, delivery) along with improvements to production processes and employee morale at the department level.

  • Develop and implement goals and action plans to achieve business objectives for Potosi: safety, quality, cost, delivery and people.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operations through effective assessment of capabilities and maximization of resources and utilization of LEAN tools to improve current processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of human resources through effective assessment of capabilities, development of internal resources and leveraging external sourcing where needed to achieve objectives. 
  • Insure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures. (e.g., safety, quality, finance, human resources).
  • Drive employee engagement, effective communications and positive employee relations.
  • Insure effective collaboration with other business partners in Potosi and other manufacturing locations/ business functions outside of Potosi as opportunities arise.
  • Achieve financial objectives for area of responsibility by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Effectively engage in research and development of new/improved processes and machinery as opportunities arise.
  • Ensure effectiveness of the staff through communications; coaching/counseling; monitoring and appraising job results; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; selection, training and development; and maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
