Job Description

The Payroll Specialist supports the Payroll Manager and extended HR Team regarding all aspects of the payroll process and related HR functions for 2,000+ employees.   Responsibilities include processing HR data and time records necessary to ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness; ensuring ongoing effectiveness of the enterprise Time and Attendance System; researching and resolving first-level employee and supervisor payroll inquiries; preparing periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions as well as payroll related analyses and reports as requested; setting up new employees in payroll system; supporting year end processes, including the preparation of W-2s; reconciling wage information monthly & quarterly.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have an Associates degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Ultimate and/or ADP payroll systems preferred. Experience with payroll in a hospitality and/or manufacturing environment a plus.

Candidates will have a working knowledge of overall payroll compliance and ability to research and apply various state and municipality requirements; strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to effectively interpret and articulate customer business needs, document, and translate them into operating procedures; proven organizational skills; ability to evaluate and optimize processes and procedures; be self-motivated and possesses a strong work-ethic; have the ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative work environment. Knowledge of accounting and/or finance a plus.
