Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Provides in-depth support and participates in diagnostic and problem solving efforts for specific technology products or applications in use at Red Wing Shoe Company.   Manages daily application support activities including prioritizing incidents and making work assignments. The position is a combination of customer service, problem solving, programming, and technical management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for reviewing and directing incoming requests, routing them to the appropriate application support group and/or other departments and groups within the IT organization.

·         Responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, and completing work based on incoming requests.

·         Analyzes client identified issues or problems which may require changes to procedures, standards, or systems and assesses the impact of those changes and if appropriate, implement those changes.

·         Designs problem solutions and makes and implements code changes when appropriate.

·         Document issues, research, and solutions to create a knowledge base.

·         Provides training, either informal or formal, to customers as needed.

·         Collaborates with the Reporting Team in fulfilling requests for new reports or changes to existing reports.

·         Analyses and designs ad hoc reports or data extracts solutions for these types of requests.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Also requires at least two years in the role of Programmer Analyst – Application Support or the equivalent direct experience with RWSC applications.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE:

SQL; VB.Net; C# and any other development tool supported at Red Wing Shoe Company.  Reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); SQL Server Management Studio;
