Job Description

The Director of Product Creation for our Heritage product line leads merchandising, design and development for men’s and women’s footwear and accessories. This position creates a path via the Go-to-Market (GTM) process for Heritage product creation, identifying and communicating market place opportunities that exist in this highly competitive industry. They lead collaboration between the Heritage Business Unit, Supply Chain and Heritage Marketing teams to drive profitability, expand product lines, grow market share and advance our Red Wing brand. They provide input into the strategic plan to accomplish short and long-term goals for the Red Wing Heritage business unit across all product lines.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates should have minimum 5 years' experience actively developing consumer products within domestic markets, with global experience preferred. Experience in Product Line Merchandising, leading development or product management teams/projects. Direct experience with footwear preferred. Experience with the Heritage product line a plus.

Qualified candidates will have the demonstrated ability to get results through influence and collaboration with organizational partners; Proficiency in and understanding of gated development processes, documentation requirements, and oversight of process execution; Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and accountability for assigned programs and products; Ability to create innovative strategies/ideas and translate those into deliverables; Strategic thinking and a demonstrated ability to provide and articulate the future vision for Product Creation; Flexibility in dealing with changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously; Ability to understand technical issues, understand impact on projects, and effectively communicate these issues and impact to direct reports as well as other project stakeholders; Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office

This position requires domestic and international travel and candidates must have an active U.S. passport or the ability to acquire one.
