Job Description

Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment owned and operated by Red Wing Shoe Company Plant 2. 

Must comply with all Red Wing Shoe policies and procedures including but not limited to safety and quality.  This job description does not list all the duties of the job.  You may be asked by your supervisor or managers to perform other duties.

This position is on 2nd shift and hours are 4:00pm- 2:30am Monday-Thursday.  Starting pay is $19.18 per hour.

  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all manufacturing machines and support equipment to insure safe and efficient plant operations.   
  • Good organizational skills, good listening skills, must be able to work in a team environment as well as individually and be self-motivated.
  • Required to work in a fast-paced environment and a shift schedule that is in conjunction with manufacturing, including overtime.
  • Required to comply with all Red Wing Shoe Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently and safely to meet the demands of plant operations.
  • Good record keeping and electronic work order entry. 
  • Ability to effectively utilize parts and service manuals.
  • Must be able to pass a mechanical aptitude skills test to be considered.

Qualifications

Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. 

  • Preferred 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment or Vocational school diploma/certificate.
  • PLC/systems programming/troubleshooting
  • Welding including MiG, TiG, stick
  • Effective utilization of all maintenance shop equipment (e.g, CnC, lathe, break, saws, drills, etc..)
  • Ability to identify and operate basic tools and materials used in machine repair.
  • Must have working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
  • Electrical working knowledge includes but is not limited to AC & DC voltages, 110V-220V, single phase /3 phase voltages.
  • Advanced knowledge in troubleshooting and problem solving ability.
  • Knowledge of industrial workplace safety procedures.
  • Must attend educational classes and seminars as needed
