Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer (Expert) to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Washington, DC. This position supports CIO-6, which manages and operates JWICS. The role will contribute to the JWICS Modernization initiative by providing expert-level solutions integration engineering and technical support, including infrastructure design, system performance optimization, and strategic planning for networking, storage, security, and data center operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and examine existing infrastructure system performance for potential bottlenecks
  • For any identified infrastructure issues/bottlenecks, name possible solutions, and work with developers/engineers to apply those fixes
  • Plan the overall design of infrastructure information and operational support systems
  • Engage in the planning/engineering of solutions/strategies for networking, storage/backup, redundancy, security and data center operations
  • Assist in the development of strategies for the configuration, testing, maintenance, and installation of application software, system hardware, system management tools, and operating systems
  • Continually work to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Consult with vendors and other IT personnel as needed for the development of problem resolution strategies specifically relating to IT infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI (CI Poly Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership and expertise in identifying, planning, developing, and executing techniques aligned with labor category mission
  • Demonstrates extensive ability to provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to organizational senior leadership and policymakers
  • Minimum 12 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to IT with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
  • Master's degree
