Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking an experienced Information Operations Policy Analyst (Subject Matter Expert) to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict (ASD SOLIC) in Arlington, VA. This role is crucial in shaping and overseeing Department of Defense (DoD) policies and strategies related to operations in the information environment (OIE), ensuring the effective deterrence of, conduct of, and defense against information operations, disinformation, and misinformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and develop DoD policies, strategies, and planning for Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), including drafting directives, instructions, and position papers for senior leadership.
  • Support the integration and supervision of efforts to counter information operations, including crafting materials for Congressional engagements and other high-level briefings.
  • Establish and refine risk management processes to protect U.S. persons from foreign-targeted information activities, and develop policies to implement these processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the DoD, private sector, and academia on issues related to malign information activities, drafting necessary policy documents.
  • Develop legislative strategies related to OIE, focusing on appropriations and statutory actions, while coordinating policy issuances with emphasis on Military Information Support Operations (MISO).
  • Provide specialized advice on sensitive activities and special access programs (SAP) related to OIE, and review and oversee Service and Combatant Command OIE policies and plans.
  • Prepare talking points, briefings, and reports for senior DoD leadership, ensuring alignment with OIE policy and objectives, and assist in periodic reviews of relevant policies and programs.

This position requires deep expertise in information operations and the ability to provide strategic policy guidance to senior DoD decision-makers.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of combined OSD, Joint Staff or Service level experience.
  • Direct experience with Information Operations 
  • Masters Degree
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance.
