Join The Red Gate Group as a Program Management Support Specialist supporting the Acquisition Policy & Innovation Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment) (OUSD(A&S)).This role is crucial in providing comprehensive administrative support and strategic management to ensure the AIRC’s (Acquisition Innovation Research Center) programs, pilots, and projects are effectively coordinated and executed. You will help enhance the AIRC’s ability to meet objectives and ensure seamless interaction with Department of Defense (DoD) offices, participating academic institutions, and other stakeholders. You will provide critical administrative and management support to the Director of the Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC), overseeing an annual mission valued at approximately $5M.

In addition to these core duties, you will:

  • Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly updates, both verbal and written, on the status of AIRC tasks, communications, legislative actions, issues, and projects.
  • Develop and implement program management tools and processes to track and manage key tasks as directed by the Director.
  • Assist with the preparation for meetings, briefings, and reports to senior Defense leaders and Congressional staff, including support for exchanges with Congressional staff.
  • Support planning and executive management of A&S strategic research and pilot priorities, ensuring effective execution by the AIRC.
  • Coordinate the accessibility of data for research purposes and ensure research outcomes are available to stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Produce an annual electronic Compendium of AIRC projects, summarizing each project’s sponsor, UARC research entities, cost, objectives, methodology, and results.
  • Ensure UARC researchers upload final reports of unclassified research to the AIRC database and Defense Technical Information Center repository.
  • Assess project requests for completeness, relevance, and potential DoD-wide application, and provide recommendations to the Director.
  • Monitor Government Sponsor participation and support for projects, advising the Director of any concerns.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of an annual project symposium to facilitate collaboration between Defense Acquisition leaders and academia.
  • Assist in organizing quarterly Acquisition Innovation Advisors (government) and Acquisition Innovation Panel (academia) meetings.
  • Develop and maintain AIRC Standing Operating Procedures, including update processes, responsibilities, communication protocols, and access control for DoD information systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Director, AIRC, UARC, and project Government Sponsors.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience in administrative support, program management, and strategic planning within a defense or research environment.
  • Understanding of UARC and FFRDC Management
  • Able to effectively brief Flag Officers, General Officers, Senior Executive Service members
  • At least two years experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).
