Job Description

Red Gate is seeking a Senior Billing and Accounts Receivable Analyst to support its Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO).  Senior Accounts Receivable Billing Analyst will provide financial, administrative, and clerical services. Accounts receivable duties include interfacing with the contract, subcontract, contract accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing organizations, pricing, as well as Program Managers, Corporate Line Management, and external customers.   

 

Specific duties include: 

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.  

  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data. 

  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records. 

  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.  

  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.  

  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.  

  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.  

  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.  

  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.  

  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.  

  • Prepare budgets and financial forecasting based on analytic data.  

  • Participates in the preparation of budgets for all contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analysis, such as funding profiles, revenue outlook, and variance analysis.  

  • Knows the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments within the program. Is sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department. 

  • On a regular and continuous basis, exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area. 

Qualifications

  • A degree in business administration. Undergraduate courses in finance, business, and accounting 

  • CDFM, CMA, CPA certification and/or MBA 

  • Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) baseline in accordance with American National Standards Institute/Electronic Industries Alliance Standard 748 (ANSI/EIA-748). 

  • Five years progressively responsible related financial experience required, including experience with receivable and billing strongly preferred.  

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations 

  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records 

  • Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required 

  • Experience in Deltek Costpoint 7.x or higher, IBM Cognos Impromptu 

  • Ability to use Microsoft Project for developing project plans, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing budgets, and analyzing workloads 

  • Strong knowledge of budgets and estimates at complete and projections 

  • Defined tasks/skills requiring some problem recognition and solution selection among predetermined alternatives 

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Visio and SharePoint)
