Join a fast-moving team as OPS Master Data Governance Specialist and become the key link between Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain and IT. You’ll own the integrity and flow of material master data, act as second-line support for the material master data tool MDG-M and drive system-aligned solutions that bring processes, data and people into sync.

The OPS Master Data Governance Specialist serves as a critical bridge among the business stakeholders in Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain departments, along with IT, ensuring comprehensive system solutions that align processes, data and people. The role serves as a second level support for the material master data tool and processes.

Job Description

DATA AND PROCESS GOVERNANCE & OWNERSHIP

  • Own and govern material master data processes and standards, ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance.
  • Own the end-to-end governance of material master data setting standards and enforcing accuracy across systems.
  • Ensure new business requirements, process changes and system enhancements align with established governance principles before implementation.
  • Provide accountability and guidance for master data quality.
  • Define, maintain and continuously improve data standards, business rules and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, data models, work instructions and governance-related documents.

 

TICKETING, APPLICATION SUPPORT & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Provide second-level support for material master data processes, applications and integrations, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Manage and prioritise support tickets, balancing operational incidents, enhancement requests and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex system, interface and master data-related issues.
  • Handle monitor data tickets and integration processes (e.g. IDocs and related system integrations) to ensure stable and reliable data flows.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive sustainable solutions that prevent recurring issues and improve system stability.
  • Ensure all solutions are thoroughly tested, internally and/or in collaboration with business stakeholders, to guarantee accuracy, stability, and operational readiness before deployment

 

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION

  • Serve as a critical bridge among business stakeholders in Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain, along with IT.
  • Ensure comprehensive system solutions that align processes, data and people across departments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline material master data processes.
  • Communicate effectively to align data standards, governance practices and process improvements.

 

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS & PROCESS AUTOMATION

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for material master data and related processes.
  • Actively contribute automation ideas and support the evaluation and implementation of solutions that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Analyze existing (“as-is") processes and challenge current ways of working to drive simplification and standardization.
  • Deliver short training or knowledge-sharing sessions to stakeholders as part of rolling out new enhancements, ensuring smooth adoption and consistent understanding across teams.

 

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of material master data and how it drives operations.
  • Experience working in an IT service management environment (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP MDG-M (SAP MM module experience is a plus).
  • Sharp organisational skills and relentless attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts for ticketing and data/process inconsistencies.
  • A process-improvement mindset with a track record of implementing enhancements.
  • Clear, effective communication and the ability to translate complex topics into simple, actionable steps.
  • Analytical focus: isolate the core issue, design the fix, measure the impact.
  • Proven ability to maintain data accuracy and alignment across systems and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Project management and Power BI skills are a plus.

Additional Information

Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2,509 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
