POSITION SUMMARY
The Director Events and Fan Experience leads the strategic vision, creative development, and flawless execution of all live events and fan touchpoints for Red Bull New York - both inside Sports Illustrated Stadium and across the greater New York/New Jersey region.
This leader will serve as the executive producer for matchday entertainment and all external fan and community events, ensuring every Red Bulls experience reflects the club’s brand, culture, and commitment to innovation. This role requires deep experience in live event production, cross-functional collaboration, and audience engagement strategy - bringing the Red Bulls story to life from street to seat and beyond.
The Director oversees Event and Fan Experiences across Game Presentation and Field Marketing, working closely with internal teams (Marketing, Partnerships, and Ticketing) and external partners (vendors, entertainers, agencies) to deliver world-class experiences that grow fandom, drive revenue, and strengthen community connection.
Job Description
GAME PRESENTATION
Own the overall vision, quality, and strategy of the New York Red Bulls matchday and live event experience, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the energy, emotion, and standards of the Red Bull brand
Serve as the executive lead and creative driver of all stadium entertainment and game presentation, from pre-match atmosphere to final whistle
Oversee the direction and alignment of key show elements, including music, videoboard content, in-game moments, and fan engagement features, ensuring consistency with brand and audience objectives
Collaborate across departments (Ticketing, Partnerships, Marketing, Operations) to integrate promotions, storytelling, and sponsor activations seamlessly into the live experience
Lead the development of innovative entertainment concepts, theme nights, and talent integrations that elevate the overall event experience
Manage and mentor the game presentation team responsible for technical execution (run of show, scripting, and production)
Continuously evolve the club’s approach to entertainment and live events, informed by trends in sports, culture, and fan behavior
Oversee Hype House entertainment programming and experiential activations
Drive revenue generation through sellable asset creation and management in collaboration with Business Solutions and Partnerships
FIELD MARKETING & FAN EXPERIENCE
Lead the overall vision and strategy for local grassroots marketing, field marketing, and community impact initiatives
Set clear priorities, goals, and KPIs for the field marketing and community teams, overseeing the planning and execution of up to 50 events annually
Identify and engage key target markets across the tri-state area to drive brand visibility, fan growth, and ticket sales
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and institutions — including restaurants, hotels, office buildings, and residential communities — to strengthen year-round brand presence
Oversee strategic programs such as the Pub Partnership network and community giveback initiatives, ensuring alignment with club values and fan culture
Ensure all live events and community activations reflect the entertainment standards and creative identity of the Red Bull New York and the Red Bull brand
Guide, mentor, and empower the field and community teams to deliver exceptional, on-brand experiences that build affinity and drive measurable results
Maintain a pulse on local culture and entertainment trends to inspire fresh, relevant fan experiences
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
10+ years of experience in live entertainment, event production, or related fields, including at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role
Experience within professional sports or large-scale live events strongly preferred
Proven success leading cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and delivering complex projects on deadline
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and motivate teams
Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
Excellent organizational skills and comfort using show management tools (e.g., Shoflo)
Flexible and collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Willingness to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required for events and matchdays
Additional Information
Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, your assigned hours may vary to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).
The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified.
