Typical requirements include: BSME/BSEE plus 8+ years of related experience in the mechanical design validation testing of networking products (Switch and Routers); Good networking knowledge and application of networking concepts and techniques; Good knowledge of mechanical fabrication, assembly and test processes; Understanding of product level architecture; Understanding of test engineering principles; High proficiency in the use of test tools such as CMM machine and test techniques to perform Mechanical Shock and Vibration, Altitude, Drop, Tipover, Humidity, Fit, Thermal, Airflow, Acoustic, HALT tests ; Familiarity with test strategy and design for test guidelines; Ability to perform test fault isolation; Ability to multi-task and resolve a variety of problems of moderate scope; Ability to interact cross-functionally with good teamwork and collaboration skills; Good mechanical aptitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Responsibilities/duties include: Generation and execution of test plans for new products; Definition of test diagnostics for new products based on test requirements; Development/modification of test scripts as appropriate to meet test requirements; Creation and documentation of test processes and test reports; Communication of test status and issues; Working with product development and cross-functional teams on the resolution of test related issues.

 

Requirements: 

• BSME/EE with 4+ years’ experience or MSME/EE with 2+ years of experience; 

• Hands-on experience in the mechanical design validation test of optical modules on various networking platforms 

• Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis with analytical thought process and visual inspection 

• Ability to diagnose problems and communicate failures to development team. 

• Multi-tasking skills to handle testing of multiple platforms all at the same time 

• Program Management, Cross functional reporting, Organizational , teamwork, collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Good mechanical aptitude. Can use hand tools and power tools to build/modify prototype. 

• Good knowledge and understanding of Mechanical and Environmental stress testing methods (Mechanical Shock and Vibration, Altitude, Drop, Tipover, Humidity, Fit, Thermal, Airflow, Acoustic, HALT), test tools (environmental chambers, CMM machine, Network Traffic Generator IXIA, SmartBits etc.) and industrial standards 

• Working knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly processes 

• Familiar with our router/switch configurations, networking concepts TCP/IP, L2/L3 switching, Optical network is desirable, CCNA Certification is a plus. 

• Familiarity with test script development using TCL/Expect/C is a plus
