Company Description

Our client is a Leading lift Installation Company based in Nairobi which offers customers the very best of service in the fields of maintenance, repair, modernization and installation of lifts.They are seeking to recruit a projects coordinator who will work together with Management to ensure the various lift installation projects are successfully initiated, planned, designed, executed, monitored and controlled to their successful closure. The incumbent will the reporting to the Field Operations Director and will be answerable to the company management.

Job Description

The key responsibilities :

  • Design the project framework for lift installations and ensure that every project achieves the desired goals and objectives.
  • Progress – ensure deliverables (desired outcome) are being completed within the baseline time scales
  • Cost - deliverables are being completed within the baseline cost plan
  • Quality - deliverables are being completed to defined expectations, first time.
  • Performance (Value) - progress is being earned for the expected cost
  • Cash flow – work with the accountant to ensure the net project cash flow is being achieved
  • SHE - the required Safety, Health & Environmental standards are being achieved
  • Regulatory - all required statutory and regulatory conditions are being met
  • Reporting - regular and timely reporting of project progress to the management.
  • Review - weekly progress reports of project team leaders are prepared and submitted to management.
  • Risk / project challenges - to proactively manage foreseen project risk, mitigating as necessary
  • Change - managing changes to the projectwithout unduly affecting the stated objectives and benefits
  • Communication – have regular meetings with team leaders to ensure they understand management expectations and project timelines and also for a quick resolution of challenges.
  • Assist in inducting new teammembers into the project
  • Meetings – attend external meetings with project consultants, architects, Engineers, client representatives etc togive project progress reports to the mentioned stakeholders and also capture crucial information necessary in progressing and completing the projectwithin the desired expectation.
  • Sales and Marketing –Will be called upon to assist in selling the company products and services by visiting prospects, making presentations in sales meetings and following up sales.

The skills required:-

  • Planning and Time Management– to ensure that projects are completed within set timeframes.
  • Resource Management– ensuring that equipment and other resources is available when required in the project.
  • Financial and Budget Management– making sure that the project is completed within a financial budget.
  • Communication – arranging and attending project meetings including with clients to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the project’s progress.
  • Delegation and Motivation– work with HR to ensure that tasks are delegated effectively and staffs remain motivated to complete the project to a high standard.
  • Technical knowledge– technical knowledge in building industry specifically lift installation works is an added ability. If the incumbent doesn’t already have this knowledge they must have the capacity to learn and understand the lift installation cycle and add value to the process.
  • Sales and Marketing –ability to prospect, make presentations, negotiate and follow-up sales.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in project management from a reputable institution.
  • Demonstrate-able sales and marketing skills
  • Proficient in I.T
  • Relevant work experience of at least 2 years in leading successful projects
