Company Description

Our client is an Irish owned global company, providing IT support, helpdesk and 

consultancy services. They sell and support the full range of IT hardware and software 

and offer maintenance contracts up to 24x7 through their certified and experienced 

engineering staff. They are looking for a Head of Marketing to support their business 

development functions and relationships in Nairobi. 

Job Description

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director and the Head of Marketing will be 

responsible for the following key areas: 

  • Leadership 
  • Work with the leadership team to define the marketing strategy that fits within the wider 
  • business plan in order to meet annual commercial targets. 
  • Takes the lead on building cross functional relationships that demonstrates how the 
  • marketing team supports the strategic business plan 
  • Works with the team to allocate resources appropriately in order to maximise revenue, 
  • drives day to day activity for market and product development and ensures all new 
  • products are supported 
  • Responsible for the development and performance management of 5 direct line reports in 
  • addition to identifying the coaching and development needs of the wider team 
  • Commercial 
  • Accountability for revenue targets across existing and new revenue streams 
  • Full Marketing budget responsibility 
  • Ongoing reporting to the Executive team detailing current marketing performance, online 
  • sales tracking, in addition to market & customer forecasting 
  • Continuous monitoring of marketing activity and making relevant adjustments where 
  • necessary to drive performance 
  • Strategic Marketing 
  • Responsible for all aspect of the marketing strategy for in-life products and new product 
  • launches; this will include acquisition and retention for subscriptions and ongoing 
  • campaigns that maximise the product exposure throughout the life-cycle 
  • Work with key internal teams such as Sales, Product Management, Standards Publishing, 
  • and Customer Service to define and deliver on going marketing support for all products. 
  •  Ensures a strategic marketing approach is utilised to ensure end-to-end marketing for key 
  • product groups. 

Qualifications

Educational 

Ideally with a university degree - in Marketing/ Business Related Field/ Engineering/ 

Information Systems 

Experience 

Minimum 5 years work experience in an IT firm with similar work experience.

The candidate that secures the Head of Marketing role will bring the following skills and 

attributes to the position:

A commercial approach with proven ability to deliver to financial goals 

Track record in delivering within a context of change, driven by continued market and 

customer development 

Significant marketing experience of the full marketing mix, with demonstrable skills 

around content and digital marketing 

Direct experience of both strategic (product life-cycle) marketing and marketing 

subscription products within the information industry/publishing industry 

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships 

particularly with cross functional teams in order to achieve results 

Proven ability to identify, assess and communicate the commercial impacts of marketing 

and their contribution to financial targets on the overall business
