- Position: Junior Assistant Country Officer
- Location: Nairobi
- Employment type: 1 year contract (renewable up to 4 years)

Job Description
- To support administrative procedures of scholars who will go to and return from Japan
- External affairs to contact, coordinate and negotiate with various levels of the project stakeholders (government officials and other organizations of Kenya and Japan)
- To make necessary arrangements for recruitment and selection of scholars
- To support procedure of sending and scholars to Japanese universities
- Daily maintenance of the office equipment (Office equipment, stationeries, etc.)
- Secretarial tasks such as a book keeping, data entry and management, drafting business / official documents, sending documents, etc
To assist an accounting works (Collection, sorting, making copy of invoices, etc.)
- To assist Japanese officer and Senior Assistant Country Officer to implement JDS scholarship project
- To conduct VISA & Stay Permit matters with local immigration department for Japanese guests
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Qualifications and Requirements:
- Academic background Bachelor Degree
- Work experience Minimum 3 year-experience of office work
- Language skill Fluent English proficiency in speaking, writing, listening and reading.
Fluent Swahili language
- Computer literacy Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, experience of TV conference through Zoom and Teams (Microsoft)
- Overtime will be offered depends on working situation.
- Good understanding of the government of the Republic of Kenya, government works and practices.
- Good communication skills to maintain relationship with governmental authorities and scholars colleagues, and any Japanese and Kenyan people related to the JDS project
- Sincere and faithful personality to comply with rules on works and attendance management.
- High sense of responsibility, willingness to take initiative, meeting deadlines, pro-activity and team spirit are important assets
- Willingness to understand the scholarship program, development/social issues in the Republic of Kenya, Japanese culture and society
- Experience of working in international organization is preferable.
