An international appliances firm is looking to hire a Supply Chain Manager in Nairobi. Applicants must have experience working for a consumer electronics firm.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- ∙Leading the Kenya supply chain operation from an operations standpoint.
- ∙Management of 3PL’s and local partnerships.
- ∙Performs work order variance analysis and review SAP to ensure accuracy of information, reconciles supply
- and demand, validates master scheduling requirements
- ∙Analyses usage data, stock levels to order parts to satisfy service levels, maintains inventory levels per plan
- and expedites shortages and forecast spare parts needs
- ∙Perform capacity projection, planning and analysis and forecast demand
- ∙Responsible for inventory control, stock planning and coordination of cycle counts
- ∙Identifies, negotiates and resolves conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability
- ∙Maintain scheduling parameters such as lead times, lot sizes and cycle times
- ∙Manages Shipping and Receiving activities
- ∙Generates reports to illustrate capacity, production plans, schedules, potential risk and resources required to
- expand business
- ∙Coordinates with Sales to manage and plan fast track orders
- ∙Communicates with customers with regards to schedules, forecasts and expedites
- ∙Required to bring any known or suspected non-conformance for all company procedures or legal
- requirements to management’s attention immediately
- ∙Liaise with SIRIM on the product certification as well as local government bodies for local compliance and
- certifications.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- ∙Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- ∙Working Experience: At least 8 - 10 year(s) of working experience in Supply Chain Management / Logistics area
- of which 5 years of management, supervisory or team leader experience within supply chain environment
- ∙Technical & Professional Knowledge: Supply Chain Management / process knowledge, SAP experience, foreign
- documentary trade, analytical thinking, leading with key performances indicators, good communications skills
- ∙Able to work independently and autonomously.
- ∙Strong communication and effective collaborative working with various levels within the organisation and
- different functions.
- ∙Strong in customer focus, planning, coordination, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- ∙Preferably has a background in home appliance or electronics industry or FMCG
