Job Description

Introduction

The Field Marketing Officer (FMO) is the highest marketing representative of the  company on the ground. The officer will be the custodian of all brand relationships on the ground while relying on Bronze Agents to execute assigned tasks. FMOs will be required to submit daily reports (through an App) as they work towards achieving their set targets.

Key Responsibilities

(a) Mobilizing, leading & motivating Bronze Agents

  • Mobilize Bronze Agents to regularly show up for work, help clarify their questions about how to explain company’s value proposition to prospective farmers and motivate them to learn and earn by working with the company. 
  • Map out the wards and assign regions/homesteads to Bronze Agents to ensure that every potential farmer living in that area has been visited and told about the company.
  • Collaborate with the Field Marketing Associate and the Operations team to recruit and train Bronze Agents and to offer support on the technology they use.

 

(b) Mapping out and planning field meetings and maintaining on ground relationships

  • Mapping out farmer groups & Identifying the group leader (get help from incentivized Bronze Agents, chief’s barazas, county government, etc)
  • Maintain calendar of group meetings & market days
  • Maintain good relationships with group leaders 
  • Staff group meetings with bronze agents to drive signups
  • Establish contact with "Friends of the company"
  • Maintain relationships with local chiefs & friends of Apollo

 

(c) Roadshow Support

  • Staff roadshows with bronze agents and manage their performance
  • Create and maintain a routemap: village centers to pass-through
  • Make decisions on the ground e.g. on whether or not conduct a roadshow if it’s raining
  • Recruit bodaboda for roadshows if need be
  • Record & track roadshows in roadshow app

 

(d) Print Material & Collateral

  • Receive brand collateral from company warehouses as required
  • Distribute to bronze agents & agrodealers as required
  • Maintain a record on the print material tracker

 

(e) Radio activation due diligence

  • Listening and reporting on performance on radio presenters according to the set brief. 

Qualifications

Qualifications / Ideal Candidate

  • College / university degree
  • 1 - 2 years of work experience working in a field facing role
  • Proficient in English and the local language in the region where he/she is applying to
  • Knowledge of the local geography where he/she is applying to
  • A technology native who’s also proficiency in Excel & general computer skills
  • Leadership experience with great people skills
