Job Description

ROLE OBJECTIVES

1.) To maintain accurate financial record by collecting, recording and analyzing financial transactions and by maintaining proper books of entry coupled with a proper financial system.

2.) Ensure the business has sufficient cash to achieve its objectives.

3.) To oversee the effective and efficient operations in the Finance department by implementing the Finance department operating manuals

4.) To ensure compliance with all the company’s procedures and processes especially those in the Finance

5.) To ensure continuous improvement of the company’s overall governance and management system.

Roles and Responsibilities

1.) Ensure the preparation and reporting of relevant and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in Kenya as well as the consolidation of the same for each Opco in East Africa.

2.) Working with the C.O.O. and ensuring preparation of the monthly business performance report.

3.) Ensure effective and efficient weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cash forecasting and gradually creating predictability in cash inflows and outflows thus creating opportunities for optimizing operations and becoming more efficient.

4.) Ensure proper management of the organization’s petty cash always endeavoring to create a risk-free environment.

5.) Develop and implement collection strategies always ensuring collection targets set out in the KPIs are met and even surpassed.

6.) Manage the organization’s payables always creating a balance between ensuring the suppliers are satisfied and motivated to supply to Aquavita and the organization has sufficient cash balance to operate.

7.) Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements as stipulated by all the government regulatory agencies in Kenya. This includes accurate calculation and remission of all taxes as stipulated by the Laws on Kenya, being upto date with changes in the law and advising management of any risks of non-compliance to these laws.

8.) Oversee the management of the company’s stocks in the warehouse, stock taking every month, monitoring re-order levels and always ensuring the company has sufficient stocks of coolers, spare parts and accessories to effectively and efficiently serve Customers.

9.) Ensuring a proper filing system is in place for all Finance, HR and Admin related issues including employee contracts, company contracts, employee files etc.

10.) Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and motivation of all  staff with an aim to build a performance-oriented team with a strong value driven culture.

11.) Handle employee related issues including leave management, employee welfare, employee discipline as well as ably represent and communicate the company interests to staff.

12.) Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of payroll and filing of payroll related taxes.

13.) Take part in weekly opco meetings and contribute towards continuously improving the organizations risk management and governance systems.

14.) Ensuring the work environment is safe, clean and secure for all the staff in the organization.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Role

1.) Business related degree (Bachelor of Commerce, Economics, Finance etc)

2.) Accounting Certification (ACCA or CPA)

3.) At least 3 years working as an Accountant

4.) At least 3 years working as a leader in a fully functional finance department of a business

5.) Process oriented, structured with attention to detail, get it done attitude and a strong desire for significantly grow in his/her career.

6.) Solid knowledge of the business operating environment in East Africa.
