Company Description

Our client is an International NGO that implements official development assistance. They are looking to hire a project officer to join their Nairobi Office and to be attached to the Infrastructure and Transport Section. The selected candidate will also be expected to handle secretarial duties when the need arises.

Job Description

1. Coordinate meetings with counterparts (Government entity, development partners, etc.)

with instruction from Representatives

2. Participate in meetings and take minutes of meeting

3. Collect, analyze and assess information on infrastructure/transport sector and report to

Representatives

4. Offer supportive feedback to both within and counterparts including Development

Partners

5. Draft letters under instruction of Representatives

6. Support and promote of project monitoring works, including disbursement of funded projects

7. Assist with PR in the infrastructure sector

8. Any other related matters as requested by Representative or his appointed personnel

Qualifications

1. University graduate

2. Over three years’ total working experience

3. Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office especially good command of MS Excel,

WORD and PPP is required

4. Good command of mathematics and calculation

5. Ability to prioritize work as well as recognize and adhere to deadlines

6. Excellent and self‐organizational ability

7. Amiable personality with a positive attitude, excellent communication/public relations skills,

able to maintain very good interpersonal relationships.

8. Excellent command of the English language with ability to draft and correct official

correspondence as well as take minutes

9. High level of initiative and capable of working independently or with minimal supervision

and making decisions when necessary

10. Reliable and responsible and able to effectively assist superiors in demanding tasks

11. Capable of handling all sorts of logistical arrangements

12. Good understanding of project management cycle (PDCA)

13. (Desirable) Track working experience in the public sector in Kenya

14. (Desirable) Track working experience in infrastructure sector (transport and/or electricity)

in Kenya

15. (Desirable) Track working experience at international organization
