Our Client is an Environmental Organization based in Nairobi and established to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environment management. They are seeking a suitable conscientious and experienced environment conscious candidate to fill the position of a Resource Mobilization Manager.

Job Description

Overall Purpose

Responsible to the Director of Resources Mobilization for providing technical support in designing and implementing resources mobilization. Strategies directed at various internal and external stakeholder audiences, in line with established policies and practices.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Director in developing and implementing the organization’s resources mobilization strategy, in line with the organization’s mandate and objectives.
  • Assist the RM team in conducting resources mobilization in development of funding proposals targeted at various prospective development partners coupled with building Donor Confidence in the company.
  • Create and implement targeted strategies to ensure, foster and nurture productive relationships with potential donors
  • Support the Director of Resources Mobilization to direct the department’s priorities and strategies with the goals of increasing visibility, increasing donor retention, and increasing funding/donors.
  • Support the Director of Resources Mobilization in conducting basic research on stakeholders’ opinions and practices in resource mobilization.
  • Oversee the management of the organization’s donor database with a special focus on donor prospects and friends of the organization
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and steward relations with existing and prospective donors.
  • Support in grants management by specifically ensuring grant compliance and reporting
  • Assist the Director, Resources Mobilization in the development and implementation of strategies for creating a high performing organizational culture based on transparency, integrity, accountability, performance measurement and results to ensure that programme activities are undertaken on sound management principles and practices.
  • Initiate and participate in organizational performance reviews, and business process improvement programmes, as well as undertake special investigations aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist the Director to prepare concept papers, board papers, periodic progress reports and annual reports showing departmental achievements against planned targets as well as providing justification for performance variances and areas of improvement.
  • Ensure donor reports are prepared and submitted on timely basis.
  • Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the supervisor.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position papers as well as write reports and prepare relevant publications.
  • High level interpersonal and cross cultural skills including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity.
  • Strong expertise in resources mobilization and management, project planning and budgeting, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheets, accounting packages, email, internet and the workflow process.
  • Ability to empower staff working under them by removing obstacles hindering the achievement of strategic objectives, focusing on results and delivering what is promised, on time and within budget.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of integrity; establish straightforward, productive relationships; treating individuals with fairness and respect, demonstrating sensitivity for ethnic, cultural and gender difference.

Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Project Management or related field.

· Membership to a relevant professional body.

· Over six (6) years’ experience gained specializing in resources mobilization and communication.
