Job Description

The Title Officer is responsible for searching for claims that might jeopardize a buyer’s rights to property purchased in a real estate transaction.

  • Underwriting support/Title questions
  • Collaborate in developing underwriting procedures/guidelines in support
  •  Provide competent, proactive resolution of title policy and endorsement underwriting inquiries from Title Agents, Title Attorneys, Settlement Agents and Lenders
  • Provide underwriting guidance on a significant number of customer issues, pertaining to title related matters and transactional risk analysis
  • Serve as a resource for settlement, examining or underwriting in all markets
  • Provide feedback for changes to existing underwriting guidelines based on experience with state markets and agencies.
  • Assist in obtaining information pertaining to rates, forms, underwriting practices and vendors in order to underwrite in new markets
  • Evaluate needs and train agency personnel in new and existing states as to underwriting,
  • software, forms, manuals, rates, settlement/escrow procedures and all other information pertinent to operations so that Company’s policies are followed

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate our diligent and creative team members and engage in productive collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with a title and closing operation.

Additional Information

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Title Officer must be able to bend, stoop, stand, and sit for various lengths of time. They must be able to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs. A clear speaking voice is necessary along with finger dexterity.

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.


Cognitive Demands:
The Title Officer must be able to multi-task various projects at once and work well under
pressure and tight deadlines with a friendly and professional demeanor.
