Job Description

An Escrow Assistant should be able to perform all of the duties of a processor and have an advanced understanding of the escrow processes and terms involved. The assistant works closely with the officer, assisting them in all aspects of the transactions. An assistant has to have good calendar and follow up skills.

Be able to review and understand the purchase contract, make sure it is complete 
Request any missing information/documentation on new escrows
Open a refi escrow and obtain all necessary information
Open a sale escrow and obtain all necessary information
Prepare sale escrow instructions and amendments for officer to review
Prepare miscellaneous documents (inter-spousal/affidavit death, etc.)
Audit incoming mail/faxes, checking for completion and accuracy, addressing any issues/missing items and/or information, and determination of how to process it, under the officers’ supervision
Prepare estimated closing statements for sale or refinance transactions for officer to review 
Input all bills, demands and necessary information into the computer
Issue/edit checks
Order and abstract insurance
Audit loan documents for accuracy and compliance with instructions
Prepare necessary documents/amendments required for loan doc signings
Package loan documents and follow up on funding status 
Send closing documents /other documentation 
Audit prelim and obtain necessary documents to clear items
Prepare basic amendments with limited supervision
Assist escrow officer with customers and phone calls, requests buyers and sellers closing funds, and explain status to agents, buyers and sellers
Obtain funding from lender, balance funding figures and set up recordings under the Officers’ supervision
Balance out final closings under the Officer’s supervision
Handle Refinance transactions with a limited amount of supervision
Follow up on all required documents/information

An Escrow Assistant should be proficient (“error-free”) in the above responsibilities to be ready for advancement to the next level as a Jr. Escrow Officer.





  • Minimum 2 years escrow assistant experience
  • Real Estate license is a plus
  • Streamline & GreenFolders knowledge is a plus
  • local candidates only
