What will the role involve?
Reporting to the Fashion, Beauty and Shopping Lead and Lifestyle Director, you will plan, write and execute beauty content for our various websites, newspapers, magazines and supplements with a secondary focus on video content creation. You will write features that showcase the latest beauty & wellness trends, creating digital content with the affiliate links to match. You will be in charge of the travel pages for OK! and OK.co.uk, and keep the yearly travel planner up to date, helping to organise trips and liaise with journalists and PRs to ensure content is filed on time and uploaded online.
You will utilise SEO and analytical tools to drive traffic to our digital content, using this data to inform content decisions. You will build strong relationships with PRs, ensuring we never miss a beat in beauty. You will forward plan beauty content, ensuring it meets the high standards of our newspaper, magazine and supplements hub. Though you will not be a direct line manager in this role, you will guide and support your team to ensure their sparkling content meets deadlines with ease. This role will involve weekend (1 in 5) and evening working, so a flexible approach is required.
Who are we looking for?
You are an imaginative content creator and an editor with proven ability to edit and create copy to a high standard of work. You have a proven track record of filming video content, writing and editing traffic driving beauty content in a fast paced magazine or commercial environment. You have excellent SEO and digital publishing skills with a keen eye for what makes for engaging beauty content. You have e-commerce skills and know how to incorporate affiliate content into your writing.
You have an understanding of our various magazine audiences and can adapt to different styles with ease. You are an expert in the beauty industry and stay up to date with the latest viral products, brands and trends. You have strong organisational skills with proof of travel writing and editing.
