Company Description

We are looking for a Social Video Producer to create high-quality, social-first videos aligned with brand vision and editorial standards. You will be comfortable recording punchy voiceovers an d using analytics to quickly interpret audience behaviour and inform output.

The successful candidate will be sourcing engaging UGC and repurposing longer-form content into platform-native edits, staying across trends and industry developments to maximise performance and supporting high-volume, fast-turnaround publishing across channels, including breaking news.

This role is home & hub linked to the South West.

You will be covering a Sunday - Saturday rota between 6am - 11pm, so flexibility is key.  

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Sourcing and editing high quality social-first and longer form videos aligned to brand vision and editorial direction
  • Understanding how to source high quality and engaging UGC, and what content engages best on each of the different social media platforms
  • Comfortable recording powerful and engaging voiceovers for quick-turnaround video content
  • Capable of shooting original video outside of the office to a relatively high standard when needed
  • Ability to break news faster than other publications by using video on social media
  • Using social media analytics to quickly understand how a brand's audience engages with different types of content
  • Supporting teams to deliver a large volume of fast-turnaround video outputs onto relevant social channels
  • Ensuring video adheres to editorial guidelines and legal/copyright standards
  • Supporting video coverage for the wider Reach network, including supporting breaking news stories, working with the Video Leads/Daily Video Lead
  • Utilising AI tools, in line with Company policies, to optimise content creation, improve accuracy and efficiency, and deliver engaging articles that resonate with our audience
  • Creating engaging, affiliate content that aligns with the brand and guidelines, driving traffic to partner sites and generating revenue through affiliate strategies. You will be responsible for researching product features, understanding target audiences, and crafting compelling content that encourages click-through and conversions
  • Tailoring content for off-platform channels to enhance audience reach and engagement. Where approved by a senior editor, distribute this content, maintaining editorial standards
  • Consider the role of audio and video content for every story, capturing or curating basic footage where appropriate or required to engage our audiences

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Proven experience at creating social media content that has excellent engagement - you live and breathe social, understanding what hooks and holds attention on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, Facebook and X
  • Well skilled on Premiere Pro or an equivalent editing programme
  • Good working knowledge of social media analytics tools
  • Focused on shaping original content to meet relevant audio-video KPIs
  • NCTJ/BTCJ qualification and knowledge of media law is preferred but not a necessity
  • Newsroom experience and proven experience of working in a breaking news environment is desired 
  • Adaptable; keeps pace with rapidly evolving tech landscapes. Able to adapt to the requirements of the business
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
