Company Description
We are looking for a Central Editor and social media expert to join our newly formed Distribution Hub, who ensure our news content reaches our audiences through social media platforms and newsletters, building upon our relationships with readers. This is a unique opportunity to work with iconic brands including but not limited to The Mirror and Daily Express to the Manchester Evening News, MyLondon, WalesOnline and beyond. You will play a key role in devising, embedding and implementing high quality social content.
You will ensure our multimedia content is consistently engaging new and repeat audiences, as well as driving revenue both organically and commercially. You will be a strategic lead for platforms including but not limited to Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest.

Job Description
What will the role involve?
You will work closely with editorial leaders and newsrooms to embed social and multimedia content in alignment with our audience development plans, exploring ways to incorporate revenue generating content. You will identify new platforms and audience segments to grow our audiences.
You will review and identify areas for improvement across various newsrooms in relation to their social content, analysing output and using analytical reports to make key content decisions. You will work to grow audiences across various brands through distribution support and hands on guidance to journalists. You will troubleshoot issues when they arise, quickly identifying an action plan to overcome and improve. This role will involve working various shifts on a rota basis including some weekends/evenings as needed so a flexible approach is required.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced senior journalist and editor with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification, media law knowledge and a proven track record of working at Editor level in a fast paced newsroom environment. You have an excellent news sense and a good understanding of our news brands.
You have a wealth of experience within digital publishing and your social media skills are unmatched. You have an excellent understanding of various social platforms including but not limited to Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest.. You are a team player and people person who can build and develop lasting working relationships with your newsrooms and be a trusted point of contact.
