Company Description

We are looking for a Picture Researcher to join our prestigious Magazines Hub, playing an essential role in creating must-read multi platform content for OK!, New Magazine, OK.co.uk and the magazine supplements for the Mirror, Express and Daily Star.

You will work to research, source, edit and licence images for celebrity news, fashion and lifestyle stories, always ensuring your images match the house style of each brand. 

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK, occasional travel to our London office is required.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

You will play a key role as part of our busy Picture Desk. You will use your enviable contact book to source the best images in the industry for our print and online titles. You will be researching images for stories that cover all aspects of celebrity, fashion and lifestyle. 

You will build key relationships with PRs, picture agencies and photographers. This role will involve weekend and evening shift  work, so a flexible approach is required.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced Picture Researcher with an eye for choosing the most relevant and eye catching images possible. You stay up to date with the latest celebrity, TV and entertainment news, and have a passion for digital and print journalism. 

You have good working knowledge of Photoshop, and online platforms such as Slack, Trello and CMS. You have excellent industry contacts and the people skills to build lasting relationships. We are welcoming applications from those with magazine, newspaper, digital or a picture agency background. You are a team player with a proven track record of securing eye catching images at pace, within a fast paced Picture Desk environment.
