We’re looking for a SEO Editor to join Reach’s new editorial team in New York. Working across all of our US sites, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a dynamic, diverse and growing newsroom with ambitious plans for the future.
Reach Plc is the UK’s largest commercial news publisher. We’re home to more than 130 trusted brands, from national titles like the Mirror, Express, Daily Record and Daily Star, to local brands like MyLondon, BelfastLive and the Manchester Evening News.
Since the start of 2023, we have been building out our US operation, headquartered at 200 Liberty St, New York. We’ve launched three standalone brands in the Mirror US, Express US and the Irish Star, covering news, sport, entertainment, politics and lifestyle - all targeted at US audiences.
We’re now entering a period of rapid growth, and are looking to add ambitious and dynamic talent to our teams.

Job Description
What will the role involve?
You will help drive audience growth across all search platforms including Google organic and Discover, as well as identify traffic driving opportunities. You will create and maintain entity, tag and topic pages. You will make recommendations to the news team on SEO best practices and keep them up to date on trends and algorithm changes that may affect their content.
You will create SEO guides and training material, updating when needed. You will assist with forward planning content for upcoming high traffic and seasonal topics or events. You will create evergreen content ideas, optimised for search.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
Ideally you are an experienced SEO editor with a proven track record of working in a fast paced newsroom environment. More importantly you are someone with in-depth knowledge of SEO & best practices gained from a dedicated SEO position or within an Editorial position within a newsroom.
You understand how to create content that drives engagement and have the skills to guide the rest of your team to do so too. You are passionate about digital storytelling and can meet deadlines with ease.
You have in-depth knowledge of a variety of SEO tools including Google Analytics and Google Console, understanding how to draw content insights and how to share these with our editorial team. You are organised with excellent time management skills to allow you to forward plan content efficiently. You stay up to date with the latest trending topics and are bursting with ideas about how to create engaging, traffic driving content.
