We are looking for a Sport Social Media Editor to join us working across two of Reach’s national brands - Mirror and Express Online, this is a fantastic opportunity to drive web traffic, maximise engagement and increase brand awareness.

More people in the UK and Ireland choose a Reach brand for their news, entertainment and sport than any other commercial publisher, with a combined print and digital reach of 48m a month.

We own over 130 trusted national and local media brands, including the Mirror, Express, Star and OK! magazine, and reach a whopping 80% of the UK online population. We’re also home to 21 of the top 25 regional titles in the UK, including the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and MyLondon.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

You will manage social media and audience relationships while overseeing regular social training refreshers for reporters. Managing social media channels in accordance with best practice and priorities and use social media analytics to drive audience growth and engagement.

You will help to promote and drive interest in newsletters and other new content formats, implement projects to grow registered users and ensure sports digital content strategy is delivered locally. Finding new ways to promote content off-platform and find new readers and working closely with Social Video Producers to ensure consistent content roll-out.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

A journalist with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge, you’re an excellent communicator who is able to sell stories with flair, passion and skill. You are a fast but accurate writer with excellent web and social skills and you are able to sell stories in the best way to appeal to our audiences.

You are a digitally savvy writer who is used to working within a fast-paced digital newsroom environment and has a strong understanding of the power of social media. You have a detailed knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok and other social media platforms.
