Senior Principal Structural Engineer
Job Description
Our client who are regarded as one of the top consultancies to work for in the UK are seeking a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer to help lead and develop an already successful Structural team based in Leeds City Centre.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading teams of engineers and technicians in the delivery of technically excellent civil & structural engineering projects.
- Responsible for co-ordinating delivery of structures, drainage and highways elements of projects, working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, at all levels.
- Responsible for the development and ongoing management of design delivery programmes, feeding into wider office resource requirements.
- Ability to develop structural designs using design/analysis software.
- Visiting sites and attending site meetings, undertaking site surveys
- Involvement in internal and external project design team meetings.
- Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members.
- Prepare correspondence and reports.
- Client Relationship Management
- Managing workload of self and others, develop and nurture junior members of staff.
The ideal candidate:
- Must hold a degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (ideally 2:1)
- Must hold a professional qualification i.e, MIStructE/MICE/AMIStructE/AMICE or equivalent
- Must be IT literate with experience of structural design software packages.
- Must be technically competent.
