The Ravo Africa Foundation is a non-profit organization that envisions communities where vulnerable children, less privileged, and victims of trauma are empowered to improve their own livelihood through appropriate and affordable alternatives. We work beyond self to restore hope among vulnerable children, HIV/Aids victims, and communities that have been affected by HIV/Aids, poverty, abuse, violence, pandemics, and other natural calamities through providing a holistic transformation of vulnerable children, less privileged, victims of trauma, and disadvantaged communities by offering education, training, empowerment, and exposure to life-changing innovations.

Job Description

We are looking for board members based either in the US or UK with extensive professional experience and significant executive leadership accomplishments in non-profits, business, and philanthropy. We are seeking to recruit 7 board members, and expect that different candidates will bring to Ravo Africa Foundation (RAF) a range of skills, experience, expertise, and attributes listed below;

1) Business and program development, especially in crafting sustainable solutions that break the cycle of poverty, violence, and inequality, especially for vulnerable children and youth.
2) Resource mobilization from private foundations, companies, and bilateral and multilateral donors.
3) Marketing, communications, and public relations.
4) Finance and risk management.
5) Policy influencing and lobbying at the senior level.
6) Strategic planning and organizational development.
7) Monitoring, evaluation, and process improvements

Time commitment.

Board membership in Ravo Africa Foundation (RAF) is voluntary and not set up to be a permanent paid position. Reasonable expenses are paid when attending board meetings and representing the organization in various forums.
Board members meet periodically (at least 4 times a year) but also participate in the life of the organization between board meetings, advising the management team and acting in an ambassadorial role for Ravo Africa Foundation (RAF). Board membership is for a period of 5 years (the term may be renewed based on performance).

Qualifications

If you are a professional quality of integrity, credibility, a passion for transforming the lives of children, families and communities and demonstrated progress in strategic governance efforts. Ladies are most preferred.
