Ravinia, North America's oldest music festival, stands today as its most musically diverse, presenting over 140 different events throughout the summer. These concerts run the gamut from Yo-Yo Ma to John Legend to the annual summer residency of the nation's finest orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

The 36-acre park is nestled in a gently wooded area that makes it an enchanting place to experience music. Guests can bring their own picnics or eat at one of the park restaurants.

Job Description

This is an entry-level 6 month temp position, with potential for extension, focusing on graphic design with some simple web content editing. We want you to develop an arsenal of new skills that will not only make you an invaluable member of our team, but any future team you join. You will work closely with different facets of the Ravinia communications team and learn a lot about what goes into marketing the summer festival. Every member of our team brings a unique flavor to the department, what will you bring?

Qualifications

•    Basic knowledge of photo editing and design in Adobe Photoshop
•    Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
•    Completed or working towards a college degree, preferably in a related field
•    A strong desire to work in graphic design or web design fields
•    Strong organizational and computer skills required
•    2-4 years experience working in related field preferable
•    Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
•    Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•    Exceptional communication and customer service skills

Additional Information

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Website updates using Ravinia's custom WYSIWIG editor and light HTML/CSS code edits
  • Create digital ads, website graphics, blog imagery and more
  • Assist in creating content for blogs and social media feeds
  • Offer general administrative support as needed
  • Assist in the creation and sending of email campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a temporary position that requires working 6-8 hours a day / 4 days a week from April-September (we are willing to accommodate changes to this schedule as needed). Some nights and weekend availability will be needed on occasion. Interviews will be conducted beginning to mid-March.
