These concerts run the gambit from Yo-Yo Ma to John Legend to the annual summer residency of the nation's finest Orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this position include assisting working with our Client Services team to staff the information booth during concert times to direct and inform customers of the evenings' event details and offerings. Additional responsibilities may include working at promotional events both onsite and off, for our marketing team.

 

Principal Job Duties

  • Staff the Information Booth at the main entrance to the festival throughout the 2018 season, helping customers have a smooth experience from start to finish.
  • Help resolve customer concerns or complaints while also helping them learn more about Ravinia and what we have to offer.
  • Record details of customer inquiries, comments and complaints and actions were taken.
  • Prepare reports using collected data to give our Box Office and Client Services team a pulse of the evenings' inquiries.
  • May include representing Ravinia in a promotional capacity both off-site and on.

 

 

Key Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours outdoors during the summer season is required, must be available evenings and weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent judgment and professionalism in dealing with a variety of public.
  • Ability to be simultaneously empathetic and stern with clients.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Computer literacy required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office essential.
  • Previous experience in customer service or retail is a plus.

  • Starting late May, through Sept 18, 2018.

Hourly Rate

  • Based on experience.
