Job Description:


Responsibilities:

  • Know the Scrum Guide and apply its principles appropriately for your team to maximize their efficiency.
  • Observe the team’s Agile/Scrum maturity and identify needs for Agile/Scrum training.
  • Coach the Product Owner and team to create and estimate the Product Backlog.
  • Facilitate discussions between the Product Owner and the team on priorities and dependencies.
  • Review and update the daily Sprint and Release burndowns to measure velocity and predict release completion.
  • Continue to update and analyze capacity, velocity, and scope and maintain a Project Burndown.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Grooming, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Skillfully facilitate discussions and know when to allow a deeper discussion to continue, when to cut the discussion off, or redirect the discussion to a parking lot for discussion with a smaller group.
  • Provide data such as the release burndown to the Product Owner and relevant levels of management to help them engage in data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to present to multiple levels of management and articulate the status of the project.
  • Keep an eye on team morale, and coach when necessary
  • Coach the team through adoption of the Agile Scrum process with positive and negative feedback.
  • Facilitate story development workshops.
  • Engage with management as appropriate to assist in removing organizational and systemic impediments.
  • Answer Agile Scrum process questions.
  • Determining communication plans and methods.
  • Cultivate a Scrum Master and Agile Scrum network.

Experience:


  • 5 years as a Scrum Master 
  • Scrum Master Certification preferred
  • Experience guiding teams in leveraging Agile/Scrum practices
  • Proven ability to remove impediments 
  • Understanding of the basic fundamentals of iterative development
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex business ideas in a clear, concise fashion.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to team development.
  • Good relationship-building skills; ability to grow and nurture relationships with stakeholders.
  • High energy and passion for the job.
  • Ability to adapt, to be flexible, and to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience and familiarity with common Agile practices, including an understanding of ceremonies, product backlogs, burndown metric and velocity
  • Proven mentoring and coaching skills
  • Enhanced facilitation skills with the ability to lead and demonstrate value, as well as to resolve conflict
