Principal House Officer - General Medicine (non-accredited)

Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight) opportunity available |12 months (1st February 2027 to 6 February 2028)

Greenslopes Private Hospital currently has an opportunity for a Medical Officer to join our existing team of doctors to provide clinical care of patients in the General Medicine Unit.  Depending upon the experience of the successful applicant, the appointment may be at PHO or registrar level.

The Principal House Officer will see a wealth of medical and surgical pathology managed by senior clinicians. 

Working closely with the VMOs and nursing team, duties include attending for the ongoing care of all patients under the care of the respective General Medicine team you are allocated. 

 This role plays an important part in supporting admissions, discharges and task resulting from the daily ward round.  The role participates in the after hours/ weekend roster.

About you

• Current General registration with AHPRA
• To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a broad spectrum of patients
• You will also have exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• The flexibility to handle after hours and weekend shifts

You will also bring:

• Current General registration with AHPRA
• Current clinical experience in Australia as PGY4 or above
• Demonstrated skills and clinical knowledge to manage a broad spectrum of presentations including medical and surgical patients
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
